Trans Equality

Advocates for Trans Equality (A4TE) fights for the legal and political rights of transgender people in America. Leveraging decades of experience on the frontlines of power, A4TE works to shift government and society toward a future where transgender individuals are treated as equals in every aspect of life.

Founded in 2024, A4TE emerged from the merger of two long-standing champions of transgender rights: the National Center for Transgender Equality (NCTE) and the Transgender Legal Defense and Education Fund (TLDEF). By uniting these organizations, A4TE builds on their historic successes to boldly envision a world where transgender people can live joyfully, authentically, and without barriers.

In a time of rising extremism and discrimination against transgender people and their allies, protecting and expanding the freedom to be who we are has never been more urgent. A4TE stands at the forefront of this fight, advocating for policies and societal changes that ensure equality and dignity for all.
